A new generation of the Chevrolet Cruze debuted in 2016, featuring an overhauled, all-new model. But knowing you have to move quickly in this class, Chevy is already on their first facelift for this compact sedan or hatchback. In other words-Cruze fans rejoice! Because this Chevy commuter car is getting even better.
What's New for 2019?
First of all, we're getting a whole lot more hatchback. Starting this year, every Cruze model except for the base one comes in a hatchback configuration. For fans of cargo space (22.7 cubic feet with the rear seat up, 47.2 feet with seat down), that's a huge plus. On top of that, the engine start-stop system now has the option to be disabled, in case you want to keep the car idling at red lights. New color options for the Cruze include Pacific Blue Metallic and Oakwood Metallic.
Finally, the Cruze has a new look. The front fascia, LED tail lights, wheel wells, outside mirrors, door handles, and window surround mouldings have all been updated. We like the cool black logo on the front grille, along with additional LED lighting and use of chrome. Inside the cabin, there's the new MyLink radio as part of the third-generation Chevy Infotainment on a standard 7-inch touch screen. Remote vehicle start expands to additional models, the floor console is now standard, and every model comes with at least two USB ports, as well as automatic AC. All told, this year is a win for those who enjoy driving a beauty of a car.
Fuel Economy for Daily Drivers
As pretty as the Cruze looks in your driveway, this car was meant to be on the road. And this Chevy compact knows to treat you right, with fuel economy the envy of many of its rivals. The turbodiesel engine gets a startling 31 city miles and 48 highway miles per gallon. What sorcery is this, you may ask? No magic, just smart engineering.
Speaking of engineering, the Chevy Cruze stands out for its sporty driving. This compact really hugs the corners as you turn, then powers into longer straightaways. Whether you navigate the sharp corners of the urban jungle or the winding country highways, the 2019 Chevy Cruze makes you feel like a star.
Not only does the Cruze boast a beautiful mug, great gas mileage, and abundant tech, but this compact car also lasts and lasts. JD Power and Associates gave the 2019 Chevy Cruze 4.5 out of 5 stars for reliability. We've looked at a lot of cars and trucks, and very few of them boast a rating that high. That high a number means that Cruze models get you to and from your destination more reliably than its rivals. No one wants to spend time on the side of the road and the repair shop. Get in the Cruze and find your cruising speed.
